Andrew Gunnell Biography

Andrew Gunnell was born in Melbourne in 1974. After studying Visual Art at the School of Mines in Ballarat, and a Bachelor of Visual Art at Ballarat University, he completed Honours in Printmaking at RMIT in 1996.
Gunnell was awarded the National Gallery of Victoria Trustees Award in 1995, and the Collie Trust Emerging Printmakers Scholarship in 1997. Other awards include Canson Student Print Award (Highly Commended) and the Ballarat University Print Studio Award. He completed Study Tours to Spain, United Kingdom and the USA in 1999, and in 2005 to France and Italy.

His work is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, RMIT University, Monash University, Ballarat University, University of Melbourne Library, Regional Galleries, and other public and private collections throughout Australia.

Currently a Committee Member of the Print Council of Australia, his work was included in the member print commission in 1997. Andrew Gunnell has been Master Printer with Chrysalis Publishing since 1998.
